Four desks, four addresses, and one promise: a person reads what arrives, and answers it.
We answer within five working days. Corrections are handled faster than that — usually the same day.
Which desk
- General — the catch-all. If none of the others fit, this is the one. It is read by the same people, not by a router.
- Corrections — something we got wrong. Tell us what and where. We will fix it, and we will say on the piece that we did.
- Press and permissions — reprinting a piece, quoting one at length, or asking the magazine to comment on something.
- Payments — for writers we already publish: questions about a rate, a payout, or withholding. Your earnings page has the numbers; this is for when they need explaining.
Better handled elsewhere
Pitching an essay or a comic
We do not take pitches by email — they get lost, and an editor cannot answer one properly from an inbox. The submission guidelines say what we want, and drafts go to an editor through the studio.
Subscribing, or stopping
Nyirobi Girl's column manages itself. Subscribe from its own page, and every email carries an unsubscribe link at the foot that works immediately.
Where we are
